Expansion & Renovation

We're Expecting! The Providence Women & Newborns Center is now under construction and it is going to be big – 29,062 square feet to be exact. The new center will feature the latest advancements in technology and comfort for the care of mothers and their babies.

• A wireless fetal monitoring system that will allow mothers to move about while in labor
• Garden-style tubs for use during water labor and to assist in the midwife process
• Beautiful cabinetry to conceal equipment until it's needed
• Murphy-style beds for the comfort of loved ones staying with mothers
• A dedicated express elevator to the Women & Newborns Center
• A high Level II Neonatal Nursery

Construction Labor Pains

This new addition will require a few temporary inconveniences such as the main entrance being closed, but the Providence Family has grown so many times, we know how to do it right. As always, disruption of patient services will be minimal. Patient care always comes first at Providence, so you can be confident that the care you've come to trust will continue each and every day.

Construction & Renovation Phases:

By phasing the renovation and expansion project, Providence will allow for no interruption in the delivery of obstetrical and nursery services to its patients. The phases are as follows:

 Fifth Floor:
Phase 1 & 2- 5 South
Phase 3- Nursery
Phase 4- Triage
Phase 5, 6, 7 & 8- Labor & Delivery Rooms
