Meet the Doctors
Todd E. Blattman, MD
Dr. Todd Blattman graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Summa Cum Laude. He received his medical degree in 1994 from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston. Dr. Blattman completed his residency training with the Waco Family Practice Program at the McLennan County Medical Education and Research Foundation in Waco in 1997. Following completion of his residency, he became active duty Staff Physician in the United States Air Force, 12th Medical Group, 12th Flying Training Wing at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio. He was honorably discharged in 2001 with the rank of Major. Most recently, Dr. Blattman has served as Staff Physician at the Hillcrest Family Health Center in Waco.
Scott E. Blattman, MD
Dr. Scott Blattman graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 1987, Summa Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas ranking 8th in a class of 199 students. He completed his residency in Family Practice at the McLennan County Medical Education and Research Foundation in Waco in 1994. Dr. Blattman has served in several roles in additon to his most recent as Staff Physician with Hillcrest Family Health Center which include: Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center and Clinical Faculty for the Family Practice Residency Program in Waco and Medical Director, Hillcrest Lighted Schools program at G.L. Wiley Middle School and Tennyson Middle School. He has also served on the Board of Directors and the Policy Board for Hillcrest Health System. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and his current professional and hospital affiliations include the American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Medical Association, Texas Academy of Family Physicians, McLennan County Medical Society and Alpha Omega Alpha.
John B. Shelton, MD
Dr. John Shelton graduated from Southern Arkansas University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1993, Summa Cum Laude. He received his medical degree with honors from Texas A&M University College of Medicine in 1997 and completed his residency with the McLennan County Family Practice Center in 2000. He has received numerous honors and awards throughout his college and professional career including SAU Football Letterman Award, Presidential Academic Scholarship, Student Foundation Scholarship, Alpha Chi National Honor Society, Tri Beta Biology Honor Society, Crane Academic Award of Excellence, SAU Outstanding Student Award and the Outstanding Student in Family Medicine Class of 1997. In additon to his most recent professional role as Family Physician for Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, he has served in several extracurricular activities including student representative for the Internal Medicine Curriculum Committee; the scheduling co-chair for Martha's Free Health Clinic; the Continuing Quality Insurance Committee and the Patient Education Committee for the American Cancer Society. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Keith D. Horner, MD
Dr. Keith Horner graduated from Southern Illinois University Medical School in Carbondale & Springfield, Illinois in 1987. He completed his residency here in Waco at the Family Practice Center in 1990. Dr. Horner is Board Certified in Family Medicine and most recently served as Staff Physician at Hillcrest Family Health Center.
Gerard A. Marroquin, MD
Dr. Gerard Marroquin graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business/Finance from Trinity University in San Antonio. He earned his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School at the University of Texas in Dallas. He completed his residency training in Family Practice from the McLennan County Medical Education and Research Foundation in Waco. He has served in several roles throughout the years in addition to his most recent role as Staff Physician at Hillcrest Family Health Center, including Private Practice with Waco Family Medicine in 1994; Supervising Physician at Hillcrest School and South Waco Elementary; Associate Regional Medical Director for Hillcrest FirstCare/HMO; Volunteer Teaching Attendant for Waco Family Practice Residency Program and Medical Director at Hillcrest Aesthetic and Laser Center. Dr. Marroquin is Board Certified in Family Practice Medicine and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice. He is currently a member of the McLennan County Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians.
Samuel W. Ralston, MD
Dr. Samuel W. Ralston graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received his medical degree in 1981 from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas. After completing internship training at UTMB in 1982, he completed residency training with the Waco Family Practice Program at the McLennan County Medical Education and Research Foundation in 1984. Dr. Ralston has served as a private practice physician in Waco and Colorado Springs, Colorado, and most recently, as a staff physician at Hillcrest Family Health Center. His professional affiliations include: American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Medical Association and McLennan County Medical Society.
Naomi Warren, FNP-BC
Naomi received her undergraduate degrees from Arkansas State University and University of Texas at Arlington prior to attending Texas Woman’s University where she earned a Master of Science in Nursing. She later earned certification as Family Nurse Practitioner from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX. Naomi comes to Providence from Sandhills Family Clinic in Monahans, TX. She has a passion for teaching patients and their families about the treatment of illness and promoting good health for the future.
